Isaac Clark: Cedarville University, Industrial Design
Scholarship amount
- PMA Educational Foundation: $750
- West Michigan District: $1,500
- Total: $2,250
Growing up, Isaac Clark always loved to create, fix, build and design things. This led Isaac to pursue a career as an industrial designer, where he hopes to use his love for creation to design things that would improve other people’s lives.
Although Isaac is still discovering the ways he will help people, he knows that he has specific interests in power tools, furniture and many other aspects of product design. Isaac’s experience in this field started by working as a tooling assembler at a tool and die shop. He worked with heavy machinery, as well as power tools and CNC machines, making sure that the tools were up to company and customer standards and requirements. Isaac then worked as a CAD intern at a tool and die shop where he worked on a 2D computer modeling program called Impact. Isaac used this program to create customer-ordered dies used to cut cardboard boxes.
Isaac believes that his past experiences at tool and die shops have greatly benefited his knowledge of metal and how he can better utilize it in his future career.
Isaac attends Cedarville University, ending the first semester with a GPA of 3.94 while earning a spot on the Dean’s Honor List.
Congratulations, Isaac, and best of luck to you!
