Bradly Schmiesing was born and raised on a farm outside Fort Loramie, OH, doing everything from changing filters and greasing the equipment to completely rebuilding engines on the tractors.

During high school, Bradly took agriculture courses and was an active member of the FFA. In his senior year, Bradly was the chapter treasurer. He also competed in many contests throughout his years in FFA, with his favorite being Agricultural Technologies and Mechanical Systems, which involved engineering, welding and mechanical skills, where they won state and placed 7th in the nation.

Bradly is now attending Edison State Community College where he is majoring in Mechanical Engineering, with a GPA of 3.933.

For the last year, Bradly has been working at Nidec Minster, with his first five months spent on the assembly floor. For the past seven months, Bradly has been co-oping in the mechanical engineering department, updating prints and creating 3D models for old prints. He also has designed a few tools for the assembly workers to use and has run some calculations for the presses.

Bradly’s future plans include continuing his career in farming and being a mechanical engineer. He is interested in being an engineer for one of the many agricultural companies, but he also could envision himself working as an engineer in the engine department at any of the companies that design their engines.

Congratulations, Bradly! We are excited for you to get started on your future career!
