PMA Lone Star Building Skills for Tomorrow Roundtable and Breakfast

Start your Lone Star golf day with a light breakfast and brainstorming to help the district bolster its local and regional workforce development. This roundtable will feature fast-paced presentations and group discussion on best-practices in recruiting, training and retaining employees. Some are tried and true, some are new, and we hope to get more ideas from you. The roundtable will be broken down into three segments with presentations from an esteemed team of Lone Star District workforce advocates including:
Alfredo Garcia, Welding Professor, Collin College
Update on Technical Education and PMA Scholarship Fund Availability
Alfredo is an experienced welding professional with supervisory and teaching skills, and a Master Trainer with 23 years of experience in the welding field. He is dedicated to his profession, demonstrating a strong work ethic and extensive knowledge in the industrial, manufacturing and construction industries. He is always eager to network and build business relationships, holding value and integrity in all that he does.
Renee Parker, Director, Industry Services Unit Director at Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County
Workforce, Labor Update and Funding Available for PMA’s Tools
Renee Parker is a versatile professional with a passion for business development and community relations. She specializes in public speaking, community liaison, public relations, recruiting and more! Renee has worked at Workforce Solutiions for Tarrant County for over 17 years and brings her workforce expertise to our roundtable attendees.
Mary Pramik, Workforce Development Manager, Precision Metalforming Association
Workforce and Training Options Available to PMA Members
Mary joined PMA as the Workforce Development Manager in January of 2023. In this position, she is the subject matter expert of METALFORM EDU and assists with the development and expansions of workforce development training programs. Prior to joining PMA, Mary held the position of Program Specialist at the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio where she managed the scheduling and delivering of programs, workshops and meetings. Mary previously spent 12 years at Baldwin Wallace University holding positions in several different departments, her last five years were spent as the Administrative Program Coordinator for the Professional Development Department.
