Andrew Yager is a young and ambitious machinist with several years of trade school and career experience. His first exposure to machining was during his trade school education where he got into a machining program. During this class, Andrew learned hands-on skills exploring topics such as machine operation and basic machining skills. During tech school, he was able to get an internship at a local machine shop, Highway Machine Company. While interning, Andrew learned even more useful skills applicable in his trade school program and for projects he worked on in his spare time. Andrew began his internship working on cleaning around the shop and slowly gained more experience using forklifts, organizing the warehouse and more.

As a continuation of his trade school program, Andrew continued his internship at Highway Machine Company. Having some experience and on-the-job training he was able to work on a machine and get hands-on experience with the equipment. He stayed full-time over the summer and got even more comfortable with the machines and equipment. He now operates a vertical lathe and is responsible for daily maintenance, tool and fixture setup and communicating with fellow coworkers to ensure that work is completed.

Furthering his education and his career, Andrew attends Vincennes University where he is studying Precision Machining. In this program, he is learning CNC machining, programming, and mold and die manufacturing. With his on-the-job experience and education, Andrew displays a commitment to his future and current career aspirations and a clear dedication to learning and gaining as much experience as possible.
