Almco Steel is a premier metal stamping company located in Bluffton Indiana. We use the latest technology available with presses ranging from 110 to 2000 ton. We are one of only a handful of companies, with the capability of 2000 ton metal stamping. We have purchased 5 new presses, that will be added to our company in the near future. Metal stampings may be the answer to reducing costs of expensive, time consuming, or labor intensive operations like machining, casting or forging. Tolerances on stampings are often held within thousandths of an inch, while, depending on the shape and size, some stampings may be produced at speeds of several thousand pieces per hour.
Stampings may also be the answer where weight savings is the goal. Castings conversion has paid big dividends, in the automotive and trucking industries, and Almco has been involved in this process on numerous occasions, helping to provide inputs to your part design, and offering prototypes for trial testing. Almco's salesmen and engineers are constantly on the lookout for such potential conversions. Customer requirements dictate other cost savings available. Almco will evaluate volume, anticipated longevity and other conditions to recommend long-term or short-term tooling. Transfer or progressive dies may save labor dollars when high volumes are anticipated. Line dies are warranted when volume is lower or progressive tooling impractical. Experience have made Almco expert in determining cost saving production methods and have earned the company a reputation for being able to produce high quality complex stampings.
