Taryn Hunt is a dedicated and ambitious mechanical engineering student working toward a career in manufacturing and industrial design. With several years of industry experience under her belt, Taryn has a unique understanding of several parts of the manufacturing process and a passion for the creation and design of manufactured products.

Taryn’s interest in manufacturing began young. Her mother encouraged her to work toward a future in engineering and provided the opportunities she would need to gain experience in the field. Furthering her interest in manufacturing, she began her career working at TEDCO Precision Sheet Metal during high school and continued working there as she finished associate degrees in mechanical engineering, math, and liberal arts. Combining classroom and industry experience, Taryn discovered her love for industrial design and began her education in mechanical engineering.

While working at TEDCO, Taryn gained experience in the shop processing and finishing parts and welding. After completing a SolidWorks course, she was given an opportunity to work with the design side of manufacturing and gained experience working with measurements, drawings and custom piece quotes for customers. Pursuing her degree while gaining industry experience gave Taryn a deep understanding of the concepts she was learning as well as the opportunity to practically apply her studies.

Having faced many challenges in her educational and career journey, Taryn’s desire to succeed and reach her goals has been a constant motivation. In the future, Taryn hopes to run TEDCO Precision Sheet Metal or work as an industrial designer. She is excited to put her education and experience to work, and her dedication to bettering herself and the industry is a testament to her passion and commitment to the future of manufacturing.
