The Human Resource and Training Professionals Roundtable offers an invaluable opportunity to network with industry peers and participate in roundtable discussions on key challenging human resource and training-related topics. Day one will focus on compliance and general HR topics while day two will feature creating a human-centric HR approach.

Each Presidential election year, federal agencies increase their regulatory activity in the event the party in control of the federal bureaucracy changes hands. 2024 is no different as regulators have already proposed or released significant new rules for employers. Omar S. Nashashibi, PMA’s lobbyist with The Franklin Partnership, LLC in Washington, D.C. will present on the latest from OSHA, Wage and Hour Division, Office of Apprenticeship, and other regulatory activity and highlight key developments in HR policy from around the country.

There is currently a wide range of ages in the workforce, and people with a variety of backgrounds and beliefs, so it can be tough to create a culture that all want to be part of. This can be a daunting task, but smart organizations use technology to keep in touch with their staff. Employee benefits are moving beyond primary care visits and wellness programs. Pamela Baird, President, Davis-Baird
PamelaPamela Baird leads an executive search, staffing and HR consulting firm (Davis-Baird). She advises clients on leadership development, market trends and the broader talent acquisition agenda, combining her insights, experience and business acumen to effect sustainable change. Her clients range from Fortune 500 organizations and regional systems, to small entrepreneurial ventures within the healthcare industry.

Prior to landing recruitment, she held positions with national nursing home chains, Nestle, and a residential mental health farm community, and has wonderful memories and experiences growing up in the automobile industry. She earned an Executive Master of Business Administration and is working toward a PhD. She currently serves on the healthcare advisory board at Baldwin Wallace where she attended graduate school.

Catherine Burgett, Partner, Frost Brown Todd LLP
CatherineCatherine Burgett has represented companies in federal and state courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the National Labor Relations Board, among others. She also spends significant time advising clients on the many day-to-day issues that arise with employees, and enjoys helping them successfully navigate the often-turbulent waters of human resources.

Catherine is a regular speaker on labor and employment and human resources topics, including discrimination and harassment issues, the Family Medical Leave Act, wage and hour laws, the National Labor Relations Act, public records requests, and best employment practices. She also provides ongoing education and training to many clients, which allows employers and their staff to identify and address human resources concerns with confidence.

Meghan Dulzo, Carrot Fertility 
MeghanAfter graduating with a degree in Psychology and Human Development, Meghan Dulzo fell into sales and never looked back. She has spent the majority of her career in the benefits space working with companies of all different sizes and industries. Meghan is incredibly passionate about what she gets to do now at Carrot Fertility. She loves helping employers provide high-quality fertility care to their employees and seeing the difference it makes in their lives.

Natalia Farian, Employee Benefits Advisor, Group Benefits, Oswald Companies 
NataliaNatalia Farian has eight years of experience in the insurance industry, having earned her license in 2017. She has focused on assisting organizations in maximizing their employee benefits offerings through creative strategies and technical knowledge while mitigating the risk to the plan. Prior to becoming an employee benefits advisor, Natalia was a client manager in Oswald’s Large Market Practice where she was responsible for the coordination of service and retention of existing clients in the municipal, government and for-profit arena.

Brian Feliciano, Vice President, Business Development, Oswald Companies 
BrianBrian Feliciano has more than 25 years of sales and service experience. He specializes in consulting, strategizing, educating and implementing sustainable group health plans. Brian started his career as a Medicare consultant and was intricate with reviewing all options and cost-effective solutions for seniors and employer groups with seniors. Brian holds designations as a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), Consumer Benefits Consultant, and is Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act certified.

Traci Fisher, CEO, The Wellness Coach
TraciTraci Fisher is a United States Military Academy (USMA) graduate, former U.S. Army captain, and helicopter pilot.  Following her military service, she embarked on a career in the fitness and wellness industry, accumulating more than three decades of experience in personal and professional development. Traci leverages self-leadership principles, Wellbeingness®, and brain-based critical thinking strategies to empower all levels of leaders to thrive in the midst of uncertain and ambiguous challenges.

Traci is an ICF Professional Certified Coach, Gallup Strengths® Certified Coach, and Red Tam Critical Thinker Facilitator. She leads two health and wellness companies based in Cleveland, OH, is the host of The Healthy Leader Podcast, and is the proud mom of three adult kids and two Beabulls, Emma and Oscar.

Omar Nashashibi, Partner, The Franklin Partnership, LLC
OmarOmar Nashashibi is a founding partner of The Franklin Partnership, LLC, the bipartisan Washington, D.C.-based government relations firm that represents PMA’s interests before Congress and the Administration.

Omar has more than 25 years of experience working with policymakers, politicians and the media. Prior to The Franklin Partnership, Omar worked for the Office of Management and Budget. Earlier in his career, he served as a research assistant at the Institute for Public Accuracy, promoting policy to the media. In 1995, he began his career in Washington, D.C. covering congressional and agency hearings for a nationwide nonprofit publication.

ConniePrior to joining PMA in May 2022, Connie served as the director of professional development for Baldwin Wallace University, where she created and delivered original, competency-based learning programs for external organizations and university employees. Connie also previously worked for the University of Akron as a manager of business solutions, where she developed and implemented internal and external organizational development programs, and created community, industry-based consortiums for assessing and satisfying skills demands. She has more than 20 years of experience in learning and development, and is passionate about the future of our workforce.
