Presenters
Tom Feister, Applications Engineer, EWI
Tom has a broad background in sheet metal forming, materials testing, lightweight materials evaluation, stamping, forging and metal forming software. Tom specializes in developing forming processes through simulation and optimizing these processes through the U.S. department of energy studies.
Jerry Gould, Technical Fellow, EWI
Jerry is responsible for developing the capabilities for statistical design of experiments. These experiments were conducted in production facilities on manufacturing equipment. He now is using many of these approaches to investigate the various forge welding processes. Jerry has published more than 100 technical papers and articles on various aspects of resistance welding and welding metallurgy. He also holds six patents, and authored or co-authored more than a dozen EWI Cooperative Research Reports.
Ted Jarosz, Technical Sales Manager, Chemcoaters
Ted Jarosz has worked in the steel coil coating industry for 32 years. He began his career working on electro-galvanizing–prepaint lines, testing paints and checking chemical baths and the waste-treatment system, and then moved into a managers role. He has been with Chemcoaters for 11 years, starting in the R&D department developing chemical coatings and then moving into dry film lubricants. He made the move to technical sales 3 years ago.
Kidambi Kannan, Engineering Manager, AutoForm Engineering
Kidambi Kannan has served as Technical Manager with AutoForm Engineering USA for fifteen years. In this role, he has been responsible for Customer Technical Support, Technical Account Management, training development and delivery, etc, and has developed a good understanding of evolving practices and challenges in the automotive stamping domain.
Danny Schaeffler, President, Engineering Quality Solutions, Inc.
Danny Schaeffler, with 30 years of materials and applications experience, is co-founder of 4M Partners, LLC and founder and president of Engineering Quality Solutions (EQS). EQS provides product-applications assistance to materials and manufacturing companies; 4M teaches fundamentals and practical details of material properties, forming technologies, processes and troubleshooting needed to form high-quality components. Schaeffler is the Metallurgy and Forming Technical Editor of the next release of the AHSS Applications Guidelines available from WorldAutoSteel.
Peter Ulintz, Technical Director, Precision Metalforming Association
Peter has worked in the metal stamping and tool and die industries since 1978. He worked for Anchor Manufacturing Group in Cleveland, OH, for 28 years prior to joining PMA in 2015 as technical director. His background includes tool and die making, tool engineering, process engineering, engineering management and product development. Peter speaks regularly at PMA technical seminars and conferences. He also is president of the North American Deep Drawing Research Group, and is a columnist for Tooling by Design in MetalForming magazine.
